Mandatory Continuing Professional Education (CPE) for Practicing Certificate (PC) Renewal

SNB will be implementing Mandatory CPE for nurses & midwives’ annual renewal of their Practising Certificates (PC).
CPE will be applicable to all nurses & midwives on SNB’s Register/ Roll with a valid PC under General and Conditional Registration/ Enrolment only. Those on Provisional & Temporary Registration are exempted.
CPE points will be attained during a period known as “Qualifying Period” (QP) – 1 Sep to 31 Aug of the following year
A 2-year pre-mandatory phase will begin on 1 September 2024 to allow nurses/ midwives time to monitor their CPE points. Those without sufficient CPE points can still renew their PC.
Required CPE Points for yearly renewal of Practising Certificate (PC) for Nurses/ Midwives
RN - 15 CPE points per year
EN & MW (single register) - 10 CPE points per year
APN 30 CPE points per year - currently in place
