Return-to-Nursing programme
Learn more about the Return-to-Nursing programme.
Nurses who have not practised nursing for a continuous period of 5 years are required to attend a Return-to-Nursing programme before they can practise nursing again. Please refer to Guidelines: Determining When Return-To-Nursing Programme is Mandatory [PDF, 476 KB].
The RTN Programme is eligible for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents (previously registered/ enrolled with SNB) and those locally educated nurses who:
a) did not practice for a continuous period of 5 years and up to 10 years (for those without any prior clinical nursing experience).
b) did not practice for a continuous period of 5 years and up to 15 years (only for those with minimum 1 year clinical nursing experience).
Nurses who need to attend RTN programme and are eligible can make enquiries with MOH Holdings (MOHH), who will be administering and facilitating the RTN programme. Back to Nursing Practice (BNP) Course
Between April 2020 and March 2021, the Back to Nursing Practice (BNP) Course was conducted instead.
The BNP Course is a one-off emergency response course accredited by SNB to provide nurses who are out of practice (more than 5 years but less than 15 years) with updated knowledge and skills so that they can return to clinical nursing practice to support nursing manpower needs during the pandemic.
